A devastating crash on Highway 41 in Madera County has left two people dead and another facing serious DUI charges. Authorities have identified the driver involved as 42-year-old Felipe Angel Ramirez of Coarsegold. According to the California Highway Patrol, Ramirez was behind the wheel of a white Chevy work truck that lost control around 4 p.m. Tuesday near Van Teri Road.

The incident unfolded in a matter of moments but had tragic and far-reaching consequences. Investigators say the truck first clipped a black SUV, forcing it to swerve, before crashing head-on into a Ford Bronco. The impact killed both occupants of the Bronco—78-year-old Kirk McCarty and 76-year-old Valerie McCarty, also of Coarsegold.

Eyewitness Travis Miller, who owns an auto shop along the highway, had been watching the situation unfold. He saw the white truck swerving dangerously and immediately sensed something was wrong. “I saw him swerve and overcorrect off the road,” Miller said. He tried to intervene, following the vehicle and urging the driver to stop. The driver reportedly blamed his erratic behavior on his cell phone and GPS.

The truck briefly stopped in a Dollar General parking lot, but Ramirez returned to the road shortly after. Just over a mile later, the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with the Bronco and then rolling over the SUV driven by a 17-year-old girl. Fortunately, the teen saw the truck coming and managed to steer into the northbound lane to avoid the worst of the crash. Her car was totaled, but she survived. The emotional toll on her family has been immense—especially for her stepfather, a local tow truck driver who frequently responds to crash scenes, but never imagined his daughter would be in one.

Ramirez remains hospitalized with injuries but is expected to survive. Authorities say he could face multiple charges, including DUI. Action News also confirmed that Ramirez has a prior DUI conviction in North Dakota, raising serious questions about how he ended up behind the wheel again.

A tragic accident in Sacramento claimed the life of a woman on Tuesday evening, June 3, in the parking lot of a Bel Air grocery store on Rush River Drive. Around 6 p.m., Sacramento Police responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a woman pinned between two vehicles with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the victim as 36-year-old Linda Angelica Tracy, a Sacramento resident. According to police, she appears to have been the one operating her own vehicle when it accidentally struck and pinned her between another parked car. Two children were inside her vehicle at the time of the incident but were unharmed. The cause of the crash remains unclear, though investigators confirmed it was not a hit-and-run. Linda’s death has been officially classified as a motor vehicle accident by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Her passing has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. In a statement released by her family, Linda was remembered as “an exceptional mother and friend, who constantly put her family and community first.” They described her as someone who never hesitated to take on difficult and thankless tasks. A dedicated Girl Scout troop leader, school fundraiser, and the kind of parent always present for games, birthdays, and play dates, Linda was known for running a tight ship at home and for her love of planning family adventures. Soft-spoken but fiercely loyal, her family said she was the kind of person you wanted in your corner during tough times, someone who would do anything to protect the people she loved. The incident remains under investigation. Experience unparalleled legal representation with Frank Penney Injury Law , the esteemed recipients of the CAOC Trial Attorney of the Year award. A tragic accident in Laguna Beach claimed the life of a 64-year-old father who was teaching his teenage daughter how to drive. The crash occurred late Monday afternoon along the Pacific Coast Highway, a route known for its scenic beauty, and, unfortunately, its share of dangers. James Politoski was in the passenger seat when the car, reportedly driven by his 15-year-old daughter with a learner’s permit, lost control. Authorities say the vehicle broke through a fence barrier, tumbled down an embankment, and flipped upside down onto the highway below. Laguna Beach police arrived at the crash at around 2:45 p.m., and the father was pronounced dead at the scene. The daughter was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with significant injuries, police said. As of Wednesday morning, the teenager was in stable condition at the hospital and expected to survive. The Laguna Beach Police Department, which confirmed the details of the incident, expressed deep sorrow over the loss. Lieutenant Jesse Schmidt called it a heartbreaking situation, noting that it not only devastated the families involved but also sent shockwaves through the entire community. “It is always difficult when an accident leads to the loss of life, especially under circumstances where a parent was simply trying to do the right thing by teaching their child a valuable life skill,” he said. A Monterey County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle was involved in a crash Wednesday at the intersection of Blanco and Davis Roads. According to preliminary reports, a white Audi was heading east on Blanco while the sheriff’s vehicle was traveling south, responding to a domestic incident with its lights and sirens on. Witnesses on the scene shared that the Audi had a green light as it entered the intersection. As the patrol vehicle attempted to clear the intersection, the two vehicles collided. The impact left the Audi crumpled against a traffic pole with noticeable damage to the driver’s side and a deployed airbag. The patrol vehicle suffered front-end damage. A 54-year-old woman who had been driving the Audi was trapped inside and had to be extricated by emergency responders. She was transported to the hospital for treatment. Despite the crash, traffic in the area remains open, though delays have been reported. The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation.
