When Do I Need a Lawyer?

personal injury legal advice video

There are many situations where you may need a lawyer, several of which may prove that the legal matter is outside your realm of knowledge. Therefore, you will need further legal consultation and will need to seek out a lawyer whom has expertise in your type of case. Lawsuits can range from personal injury, auto accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, etc.

Knowing when to seek professional help, such as a personal injury attorney, in a specialized field can be difficult to determine throughout times of trial and tribulation. Criteria for knowing when legal consultation may be necessary can be defined by such instances:

  • Have been involved in an auto accident or the wrongful death of a loved one
  • Pursuing a claim in which you are entitled to pursuing maximum compensation for your pain and suffering
  • If you have been charged with a lawsuit and need legal representation

If you have been the victim a personal injury accident in a truck, motorcycle or car accident, you will need a personal injury lawyer to help you fight for maximum compensation. However, to ensure the development of a personal injury case compensation, seek medical attention immediately and document the costs of procedural care, as well as the damages that have been diagnosed.

It’s important to understand that if you are injured in an accident, you have a specific time limit to file a lawsuit under the statute of limitations.

Hello, my name is attorney Frank Penny and this is the Legal Minute. Do you need a personal injury lawyer? The short answer to this is, maybe. If the matter is minor and does not involve injuries or just minor injuries, then perhaps you can settle the matter with the insurance company yourself. Be sure to get immediate medical care and be prepared to negotiate for a smaller amount. For all other cases, you should consider a lawyer or at the very least consult with several lawyers to find out if you have a case.
