Mark D. McCauley, trial attorney at Frank Penney Injury Law

Mark D. McCauley is an experienced trial attorney at Frank Penney Injury Law with a distinctive legal background that brings valuable insight to injury cases. For the first 17 years of his career, he represented defendants on behalf of several national insurance companies. In 2021, he shifted his practice to advocating for individuals who have been injured, using his prior defense experience to benefit plaintiffs pursuing fair compensation.

Mark has served as lead trial counsel in 25 jury trials involving slip and fall accidents, motor vehicle collisions, dog bite injuries, and pedestrian accidents. His courtroom experience also includes numerous successful arbitrations and mediations, where he has helped clients resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.

One of Mark’s notable trial victories involving the loss of use of a classic car resulted in a published California appellate decision that upheld the jury’s verdict and clarified state law. His litigation background reflects both strategic depth and practical trial skill.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University and received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He is licensed to practice in California state and federal courts and has represented clients throughout Northern California.

Outside of the office, Mark is devoted to family and community. He has been married to his wife, Heather, for more than two decades, and together they have two children. He enjoys spending time with his family at Lake Tahoe and staying active through biking, hiking, and swimming.

Before completing college, Mark served as a missionary in Sapporo. His personal and professional experiences have shaped a practice grounded in empathy, compassion, and dedicated client advocacy.
