Paul J. Hoybjerg
Paul received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, graduating with honors (cum laude) from Brigham Young University. Paul was actively involved in student government at BYU serving as head of public outreach on the Student Advisory Counsel as well as being chosen as one of seven students to represent the University to its Board of Regents to report on student affairs. Paul received his Juris Doctorate at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He acquired critical skills in mock trial competitions as a member of the Moot Court Team. He also served as an associate and executive editor on The BYU Journal of Public Law.
Following his first year at law school, Paul clerked for the honorable Judge N. Randy Smith of Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to his duties of researching and drafting opinions for the Ninth Circuit, Paul was charged with reviewing and approving federal charges for Washington and Oregon. Paul gained valuable experiencing from behind the Bench learning from Judge Smith the elements of a persuasive argument, and how to get the best results for your client.
Prior to joining Frank Penney Injury Lawyers, Paul clerked at Kirton & McConkie in Salt Lake City Utah, a firm of over 100 licensed attorneys. Paul helped defend health care facilities against plaintiff’s claims. Paul learned methods defense attorneys use to defeat plaintiff’s claims and ways plaintiffs can strengthen their cases.
Paul’s true passion is helping people who have been wronged and injured. He specializes in personal injury law and litigation. He was a victim of medical malpractice and is driven to fight for those who have been wronged. Paul believes each client, regardless of age, language, or nationality, deserves the right to justice.
Paul is fluent in Spanish. He served a Spanish speaking mission in Minnesota and has used his Spanish while abroad in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Spain.
Paul is actively involved in the Roseville community. He sits on the Board of Directors for La Raza Lawyers Association of California, La Raza Foundation, and the Sacramento County Bar Association. Paul is an active member of La Raza Lawyers Association of California, J. Reuben Clark Society, BYU Management Society, Sacramento County Bar Association, and Consumer Attorneys of California.
In addition to spending time with his wife, Paul enjoys riding dirt bikes, jet skiing, snowboarding, basketball, football, and golf.
Paul is admitted to practice before the State Bar of California.
